Our Story

In 1965 Willow Tex was founded as a supplier for commercial drapery fabrics and soon began offering a variety of fabrics into the commercial contract market. In the mid 80’s, Willow Tex signed a distribution agreement with a Japanese manufacturer of polyurethane synthetic leather. After a few short years Willow Tex decided to focus exclusively on synthetic leather. By 1995 Willow Tex had established itself as the preeminent supplier of premium quality polyurethane leather in the contract, hospitality, healthcare marketplace. Sales were expanded into other areas such as aircraft, boat, and automobile interiors. In 2004 Willow Tex introduced the first inherently fire retardant synthetic leather to meet the FAA flammability requirements and soon became a leading supplier to the aviation sector.

Willow Tex continued to expand their color collection and began to realize the positive impact that a USA based manufacturing facility could provide. In 2013 Willow Tex began construction on a state of the art production plant in North Carolina. The goal was to produce the highest quality synthetic leather in the world at our own factory right here in the USA. Our next generation manufacturing facility utilizes proprietary Ecocel® Technology that is EPA / OSHA compliant for reduced environmental impact and worker safety. Our brand IZIT® Leather has been trusted in many industries for over 30 years and continues to be synonymous with high-performance luxury seating and interiors. The Willow Tex “made in the USA” vision is to be a steward for the environment and continue exceeding customer expectations by combining exceptional service, experience, and innovative solutions.
